Did Israelis Leak New Spy Info to Thwart War?
Over at the American Conservative magazine’s blog, Antiwar.com columnist and former CIA officer Philip Giraldi reports that Israeli sources have indicated to him that the recent leak to the FBI about the new-old Israeli spy case came from inside the Israeli government toward the end of thwarting Ehud Olmert, Dick Cheney and the War Party’s plans to expand the Middle Eastern slaughter to Iran – and that there are more spies to be revealed…
Israeli sources are reporting that the FBI investigation of the Ben-Ami Kadish spy case resulted from a leak coming from inside the government of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. …
[Yosef] Yagur, who is now retired and living in Israel, was Kadish’s case officer, handling the cases of both him and Jonathan Pollard. Before the anonymous leak of information, the FBI had no idea that Kadish had been a spy for Israel. Now it is investigating a number of US citizens, including an individual who held very senior security positions in the Clinton and Bush White Houses.
How many different people fit the definition, “an individual who held very senior security positions in the Clinton and Bush White Houses”? Can’t be too many… More to the point, why would the Israeli government do such a thing as out their own agents (albeit past ones) to the FBI? According to Giraldi,
The leak of the information at the present time is believed to be linked to proposed closed congressional hearings at the end of this month in which the White House had planned to use several Israeli intelligence officers to provide evidence on the alleged Syrian nuclear program that was bombed on September 6, 2007. It is now unlikely that Israeli intelligence officers will allow themselves to be questioned because they would almost certainly be asked about Israeli spying on the US. Vice President Dick Cheney and Olmert had apparently planned on using the congressional briefings as a launch pad to intensify diplomatic and military pressure against both Syria and Iran. It is believed that the “doves” in the Olmert administration who leaked the information are seeking to make a military confrontation more difficult and are hoping that negotiations, particularly with Syria, will instead take place.
According to the LA Times, these Congressional hearings about the bogus Syria-North Korea Plutonium factory were meant by the neocons at the American Enterprise Institute to be a simple “box-checking exercise,” on the great clipboard of war in the words of AEI vice-warmonger and Ahmad Chalabi champion, Danielle Pletka.
Gareth Porter’s new article explains how the installation of General Petraeus as Royal Viceroy over the Middle East and Central Asia helps smooth the road to war. Perhaps the new and forthcoming spy revelations will help push the scales back the other way.

Regarding Israel claiming it hasn’t spied since Pollard — what about the Israeli *art students* reported by the DEA, as well as Le Monde and Jane’s Defense, some of whom were shadowing the September 11 hijackers? Most of whom had ordinance and electronic surveillance backgrounds.
What about the Government Accountability Office reporting, sometime in the last five years, that Israel is the *ally* that spies on the U.S. most aggressively?
And the “dancing Israelis” arrested because they were caught celebrating as the WTC collapsed, and eventually deported along with the art students?
What about the Israeli company Comverse setting up the phone system on Capitol Hill? Which, by the way, bought Verint, which was in charge of security on the London underground when the 7/7 bombings occurred — you know, the attacks that Netanyahu “9/11 was a good day for Israel” was warned about before they happened…
What about an Israeli company designing the technology to be used in our new biometric passports?
What about the Starr report of an agent of a foreign government “Mega” in the White House, whom some believe was Rahm Emmanuel?
The list is endless, so I call BS — Israel spies on us still.

The high-stinkum story about the brave Israelis blowing up a Syrian nuclear reactor is so threadbare it wouldn’t restrain a French supermodel’s bustline. There’s a little problem: Nobody noticed any radioactivity registering anywhere near the area after Israel bombed the site last September.
But that hasn’t stopped the White House from trying to build the case for war around a ruined shack in the desert:

The New York Times and The Washington Post, always ready to pass along martial dictation, reported the Syrian reactor “is said to appear to be identical in design to a North Korean reactor at Yongbyon.”
Hope Congress in entertained. Most of the rest us of AREN’T. And not a bit amused, either.

On topic. Giraldi’s disclosure of Israeli insiders, should it catch wind, is good news for the non-intervention right. Enough tiptoeing around the US/Israel Sparta scenario. Time to “Koupe tet, et Boule Kay” –in the words of Haitian revolutionary figure Boukman: “cut the heads, and burn the house.”
Israeli right-wingers can’t remain a protected class in America forever–spilling trillions of dollars in treasure to create their greater Israel. And, lapping up the political means to wealth while bringing death and destruction back upon both Israel and America.

I like the term “leak”. It is can also be used as an euphemism for urinating or pis-ing. If Israeli sources are “leaking” information, it reminds me of an old military aphorism, “Son, you are pissing on my leg and trying to convince me that it is raining”.

Anyone else notice the timing of today’s release of ‘new’ information on that Syrian/Korean ‘nuclear’ site? They already tried this once and it fell flat, so why not try it again with fancy new graphics, new talking heads and new ‘evidence’ – just in time to deflect everyone’s attention from Israeli spying.

I just don’t understand this Kadish spying affair. This guy worked at the Picatinny arsenal, where they develop weapons. Why should Israel bother learning how to copy the manufacture of new weapons when the US is so eager to just give Israel whatever they want, as soon as it rolls off the assembly line. Like, during the height of Israel’s rape of Lebanon, the US used non-stop air transport to resupply them with all the cluster bombs Israel wanted; enough to blanket southern Lebanon. Better yet, in Iraq and soon Iran and Syria, the US will willingly undertake the slaughter of the Arabs for the Israelis, gratis. These actions make spying for nickel-dime blueprints so unnecessary. I mean, if you own the whole candy store, do you have to sneak a handful of M&Ms? Maybe Israel just needs to practice devious spying so as not to lose those skills.

Saudi Arabia as a threat to Israel? Please tell me how that can be. Saudi Arabia is a total monarchy run by ultra conservative people. The last thing those people want is any conflict that threatens to stir their people up and get them to call for more democracy. Also, Saudis are probably the world’s lousiest soldiers (Lawrence of Arabia, not withstanding). In the 1967 War, they were pitiful. Why should Saudi Arabia attack nuclear armed Israel? The Saudis government buys its influence, it doesn’t need a military. The US has a very cozy arrangement with the Saudi monarchy and doesn’t want anything to change either. The only reason they buy F15s is because like an indulgent old relative, they feel obligated to buy SOMETHING from the US in exchange for all the oil that they sell for dollars. And military arms are about all we have to sell the world except for wheat and porn. And we are safe in assuming that we can sell them F15s without them ever using them. Hell, we could probably sell them nukes without Israel breaking a sweat. Anyway, the IDF has thousands of jet aircraft, the Saudi Air Force is probably in the hundreds of aircraft. And I would bet that maintence of the Saudi AF is in American contractor hands, which could shut the whole shebang down overnight.

Our only hope is that the Generals who know and resent how this wicked admin gave the go-ahead for 9-11 ( as called for in the PNAC ) will organize a coup and install Patrick J. Buchanan as President for life…Sen. Doles’s senior advisor spoke of these Generals and military people years ago..They know the truth about the Reichstag fire of the 21st century…But do they have enough guts? My USMC surely does..Of course the Bush Admin has our Recon and Force recon all tied-up with their imperialistic wars and the Generals are afraid of losing their dollar depreciating pensions…So I guess we’re stuck..In the words of John mcCain, ” there will be more wars..”

Your comment that Israel spies on the USA because we sold F-15 fighter planes to Saudi Arabia and that Israel needs to gather info on the F-15 in case of a war between Israel and Saudi Arabia still confuses me. According to Wikipedia, the Isaraeli Air Force consists of thousands of advanced aircraft including 50 ea F-15s and 24 F-15Es. If they need to know all about the F15s why don’t they just open their tech manuals. Also Israel has over 200 Lockheed F16s (also courtesy of Uncle Sucker) and 64 Apache Attack Helicopters. The Saudi Air Force has a total of about 250 aircraft including 3 squadrons (about 50 planes) of F15Cs. I am royally sick of Israeli “poor mouthing” about their vulnerability to the Arabs. Total crock of merde.
