Mission in Afghanistan Failing on Every Front

John Glaser, December 11, 2011

This is a commendable job by al Jazeera journalist Sami Zeidan interviewing U.S. Army Lieutenant General and Commander of the NATO Training Mission William Caldwell. The Lt. Gen. stumbled and bumbled over the embarrassing hard facts Zeidan puts forth, and had no answers for most of the interview. The whole thing is well worth a watch, but what’s most notable about it is that I don’t know of a single established American journalist on network news that would ask such tough questions of a military commander. Instead, mainstream journalism – especially face-to-face televised interviews like this one – oozes with deference to authority and an utter disdain for asking relevant, truthful questions of our “patriots.”

  3. Caldwell is typical of the arrogant buffoons who have commanded the imperial legions for most of the last three quarters of a century. Arrogant and witless, these creatures have not a single critical or original thought in their heads and no focus on anything other than their own professional self-aggrandizement. Despite his attempt to remain detached and collected, Caldwell is clearly uncomfortable with Mr. Zeidan's hardball line of questioning. That the master controllers inside the Pentagram (and their politician bosses on the Joint Chiefs of Staff and higher) allowed Caldwell to be interviewed by a "non-approved" media organ such as Al Jazeera attests better than anything else to the fact that the imperial legions are in the hands of some very low-wattage bulbs of the human chandelier.

  4. Caldwell repeatedly refers to "the international community".

The community he refers to is 95+% American with the remaining 5% grudginly going there because they are browbeaten by the US.

In reality the occupation is 100% American with the help of mercenaries.

  5. This guy is a buffoon ~ Remember back in 2008 when these so-called "trainers" and experts will take at least 2 years to train the Afghan army and police to be able to seciure the country for stability / In other words, these so-called military experts, said at that time that by October 2010 they will be "up to speed" and will be able to take over the security of Afghanistan ! And we are paying this A@@hole to tell us he as NO idea what is going on?????

  6. The War in Afghanistan, just like the one in Iraq, just like every other aspect of the so-called "War" Against so-called "Terrorism" is, by the most important and significant measure, a complete and total success.

People need to remember that 99.99% of each, every, and all of the trillions of dollars spent on this Holy Crusade goes into the pocket of some American stockholder, or mutual fund owner, or executive or worker. Either to these Americans or to some American lackey or flunky.

And the best part is that nobody is paying for it; it's a credit card war with the bill not due until the War is Over and Won: ie, "Never."

This has been — with the possible exception of the "bail-outs" precipitated by the so-called "Financial Crisis" of 2008 — the biggest and most successful Transfer of Wealth Scheme in the history of this planet.

  7. Were the American people generally aware, I think they would be troubled that unmarked Russian aircraft are currently bombing Afghanistan and that Russian troops disguised as Northern Alliance are also fighting against the Taliban in an effort to reward the Northern Alliance as heir apparent in Kabul. Trouble is, the Afghan people will not accept the traitorous Northern Alliance with their sordid history of ethnic bloodletting as a viable government. In exchange the US is siding with Russia in their genocide in Chechnya by using their financial muscle to prevent aid from reaching the Chechen Reisitance. So, we are unwitting co-conspirators in Russia's genocide and working hard to bring a puppet government to the Afghan people that they wll never accept. What a great policy!

If this sounds like the typical kook, religious freak and hater, so be it. Unfortunately, this is the truth.

  11. No doubt the bailouts and Afghanistan/Iraq wars are huge transfer of wealth schemes, but the biggest and most successful Transfer of Wealth Scheme of all was the creation of the Federal Reserve system in 1913.
