UPDATE: A fan of Plaut’s splits hairs in his defense. Give it a rest. If you refer simply to “al-Jazeera,” the implication is that you’re referring to the TV network or its Web site. To borrow one of Glenn Reynolds’ stock phrases, Plaut is either lying, or stupid, or both.
