TSA Misses Biggest Bomb

from Washington Post cartoonist Tom Toles’s Sketchpad today –

At a time when the White House and Homeland Security are yammering about how the TSA needs to squeeze our butts for our own good, the feds are screwing the economy with enough deficit spending to wreck practically everyone’s future. Or at least wreck the future of anyone who is not politically connected…

Ummm, Mr. B? Isn't that the whole point? An exercise in deficit rape? You know, of the American people?

  2. Chinese and Indian hands and minds can do whatever American hands and minds can do. Being poor, and smart (the poor can't survive stupidity) and motivated, and starting from a substantially lower standard of living, they can perform these tasks for substantially lower wages. And they do. A global economy means labor arbitrage, means Americans are out of work, means tax revenues are down, means deficit spending and govt borrowing (cause govts own your ass and will never "downsize" themselves) are up, up, and away. Get over it. The American standard of living will plunge until it meets the rising standards of China and India (among others). Then things will stabilize.

The beauty in this is that the left- and right wing dimwits, the evangelical morons, the beer-gutted gun fondlers, the Birthers, Truthers, and Tea Partiers who vote with their gut for the political parasites, who then sell them to the Wall Street Gangsters and corporate despots — the mental incompetents led around by the nose will be the ones to pay. They will have thoroughly screwed themselves because they couldn't rise above their animal instincts. While the rest of us will do well.

Cattle are useful. They make cattle barons rich.

    I'm friggin' loving it.

Mind you, we ***could*** have a govt that protects the welfare of all the people, stupid as well as smart, poor as well as rich, in good times and bad,… but that would be socialism,… so we don't.

I disagree. There will always be an underdeveloped nation/state that can supply cheap labor. If there isn't there will be one that hates murka and needs to be bombed back to the stone age. Once it's back to sticks, rocks and loincloths, we can cut the puppet regime a bunch of loans to rebuild and open their borders to "investment"…which is codespeak for collateralizing the newly acquired debt. The puppet regime gets fat and rich at the expense of it's people and nation. Wall Street stock indices rise a few points. Banksters get their obscene bonuses, defense contractors get their cash cow contracts…stop me if you've heard this before…
