Ron Paul Says Neocons Furious: Diplomacy Worked With Iran

The quick resolution of the potentially difficult situation of US sailors caught inside Iranian territorial waters should have been celebrated in Washington as a triumph of diplomacy. With the Naval personnel in Iranian custody, Secretary of State John Kerry telephoned his Iranian counterpart and was able to talk the crisis back down to a relative non-event. This, of course, infuriated the neo-cons who saw it as a sign of weakness that the US did not respond with bombs instead of words. More in today’s Liberty Report:

  1. If the roles were reversed there would have been no Iranian survivors. Yes, Iran did use it as propaganda, but they were justified in stopping this illegal incursion into their territorial waters. Maybe the US imperialists should learn how to navigate.

  2. Lets be frank about this, two boats with failed Motors Radios, and navigational equipment, hardly going to cut the mustard there! Put the comments by some that one boat has damage that was caused by running aground means that either this was more than has been stated operation wise or the US Navy needs to look at prosecutions for dereliction of duty, because massive failures of this kind on TWO identical boats is a serious problem! One of which would ground an aircraft type let alone two in the same operation on the same day! Running aground means actual contact with Iranian soil which is a lot closer to land that two miles into Iranian Waters it is actually hitting Iran probably above Low tide mark!

  3. It's OK for the good ol' USA to attack Iraq(1991 & 2003) on a pack of vile lies and murder over 1,000,000 innocent people, plus leave that nation forevermore polluted by depleted uranium munitions, but its wrong for Iran to protect its territorial borders and then treat the detainees with respect due to POWS(or whatever term applies to these sailors)? Americans who fall for the current position of "Iranian aggression" are woefully misinformed!
