Saudi Escalation: Lebanon and Yemen in the Crosshairs

The Saudi crown prince is rumored to soon take over as king. He has moved against possible rivals within his own family and seized billions of dollars. Meanwhile he’s threatened Lebanon and his government has ordered Saudi citizens to leave Lebanon. This while blaming Iran for a Yemeni missile that hit near an airport in Riyadh. The US is backing Saudi moves against Yemen and Lebanon to the hilt. Is something big about to happen? We suspect it is. More today in the Liberty Report:

  1. There may be some elements of the US Government that is “backing the Saudis to the hilt” but there must also be the realist element that see this can come to no good for anyone and ultimately it’s the US that will be the biggest loser of all… Other than the dead.
Which side will prevail is up to how fast the American public can rally against the war vs. how deeply the War Party has it’s hooks into the Trump Administration.

  2. The missile hit near an airport, eh? First reports had the missile shot down by US Patriot anti-missile missiles. Shrapnel, perhaps? The only thing clear about the situation in KSA is that very little is clear. Fog of War…

Israel still wants the water in the Litani River, in Southern Lebanon. Israel and KSA have been covert friends / allies for some time, maybe as much as twenty years, maybe longer. I’d bet on a “regime change” operation for Lebanon in the not too distant future. I’d also bet that it will not go according to Neocon / Neoliberal interventionist plans. Nothing ever does, unless their plan is to create chaos and widespread destruction – and it may well be.

(Neocon) Michael Ledeen: “Creative destruction is our middle name, both within our own society and
abroad. We tear down the old order every day, from business to science,
literature, art, architecture, and cinema to politics and the law. Our
enemies have always hated this whirlwind of energy and creativity, which
menaces their traditions (whatever they may be) and shames them for
their inability to keep pace. Seeing America undo traditional societies,
they fear us, for they do not wish to be undone. They cannot feel
secure so long as we are there, for our very existence—our existence,
not our politics—threatens their legitimacy. They must attack us in
order to survive, just as we must destroy them to advance our historic
    mission.” from http://www.theamericanconservative.com/articles/flirting-with-fascism/
