Saudis Threaten Trump: ‘You Want $400 Oil?’

President Trump has sent Secretary of State Pompeo urgently to Saudi Arabia this morning, hoping to get to the bottom of what happened to Saudi exile journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Trump has promised “severe punishment” to the Saudis if they are involved in killing the journalist, but the government funded Arabiya newspaper threatens strong retaliation if the US dares strike out against Riyadh. Is a major geopolitical shift brewing? Who killed the journalist? What about the Turk role? We try to untangle this complicated issue in today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

  2. Need to look into the Trump family financial relations with SA. BTW there are many who oppose the US involvement in Yemen.

  3. Empty threat. The Saudis don’t want even $100 oil-which they could easily engineer. If you have one and only one export product you don’t want the world to find substitutes. How much fuel oil is used to generate electricity in the US? About zero. 50 years ago, plenty. Expensive oil will cause Saudi customers in Asia to switch to gas, etc. I think this “threat” was made up here to justify a hands off approach to dealing with the Khashoggi crisis.
