For 18 years, US government officials – from the generals up to presidents – have knowingly lied to the American people about the Afghanistan war. As billions were being flushed away or stuffed into the pockets of corrupt officials, the news for those of us back home was always good! We’re “making progress.” Now, thanks to 2,000 documents recently released as a result of a FOIA request, we know the truth. Will anyone be held accountable for this monstrous, murderous lie? I this world, at least, that’s simply not the way it works.
Not surprisingly pretty much the same things occurred when the Russians went in, only they got out quicker. I told people at the time the U.S. was going in that I had just read about how the Russians got stuck and the reports getting back to Russia about how the war was going were frequently wrong. While I suspected the same would occur, I never imagined the disaster would go on this long.
The Lie and Coverup didn’t start when we invaded Afghanistan on 07oct01.
They started on 11sep01, and haven’t stopped since.
Anybody seeking accountability for the “monstrous, murderous lie” that is “The Forever War” needs to start with 9/11. Unless and until that happens, nothing is going to change.
Not until the next 9/11. And when those who benefited most from 9/11-I determine that they can gain even more from a second iteration, Who and/or What is going to stop them?
