Ron Paul asks: Why Was Soleimani Assassinated?

President Trump and Mike Pompeo told us that Iranian Gen. Soleimani had to be assassinated when he was in Baghdad at the end of last week because he was on a mission to plan and implement attacks on US military and diplomatic personnel in the region. But their story is not holding up very well, as reports surface that he was on a peace mission and other US claims are not adding up. So…why was he killed? Watch today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

  1. If I remember right Nixon started moving the war ships around the Gulf when he was facing impeachment but a day or two later thought better of it and bit the bullet. Clinton didn’t think twice and fired a bunch of missiles into Afghanistan and other places during his impeachment, maybe causing a revenge attack on 9/11. Trumps good buddy Netanyahu constantly uses the military, killing “bad guys” to keep himself in power. Trump creates his own reality and I think he is out of his mind.

    1. Trump has gone insane lately. He ran as a populist against a dishonest system. Now, he blatantly lies; everyone knows he’s lying about foreign policy.

What was he thinking? He could have been revered around the world.

        1. At least it can be said he’s extraordinarily bad at lying. Even Iran knows Trump can’t go to war with Iran.

Ingraham fell for the Soleimani propaganda, btw. She tried to stay on the noninterventionist train but fell off a bit. She still wants the US out. I’d never heard of the guy. I doubt she nor Trump had either. There’s a video showing Trump doesn’t know in 2015. I like how nearly all of the original MAGA supporters are still antiwar, however.

Rand suggests Trump was given bad advice. I’m surprised the US fought with the guy and then killed him. The Syrians see Soleimani as a sort of saint, and Trump blamed Obama for starting ISIS, which Soleimani had to then defeat.

I hope he takes a day to reflect on this mess. All Trump seems to want is to appear to have won something. So, maybe the Iranians could give him a trophy if he leaves.
