Lapdog Europeans Join Trump To Kill Iran Deal

The European partners of the JCPOA Iran nuclear deal have handed a big gift to the neocons and warmongers, announcing that they have triggered a mechanism within the agreement that will effectively kill the agreement in weeks. So say goodbye to peace and trade and hello to war with Iran. On today’s Ron Paul Liberty Report:

  1. There is no difference between Trump’s foreign policy and that of the Clintons, Obama, and the Bushes. Like Ron Paul said, leaders may change but the foreign policy remains the same.

    1. I would argue that Obama drew a red line at Iran. He was willing to follow the neocon playbook toppling “rogue” nations (Libya, Egypt, Syria after Bush II went after Iraq and Afghanistan) but pursued the JCPOA specifically to deny them the casus belli they desired to sell the attack on Iran. IOW, the war-minded can’t proclaim the need to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons when there is a mechanism in place to prove that they are not developing them. Further, H Clinton would likely have kept the deal intact.

Now that Trump pulled out, he touts the neocon war-cry:

“Iran will never be allowed to have a nuclear weapon”

        1. Agreed- Hillary is too interventionist. Even so, I believe she would have not only kept us in the JCPOA, but the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces Treaty (and Paris Agreement) as well. Trump’s decisions have started a war with Iran (whether the media wants to recognize it or not) and re-kindled an arms race with Russia and China for intermediate nukes, hypersonic missiles and “tactical” nukes.

And Saudi Arabia “wants nukes” too. Trump authorized “six secret authorizations by companies to sell nuclear power technology and assistance to Saudi Arabia”.

Trump intends to help SA get them. He is a non-interventionalist’s worst nightmare.

  2. Didn’t Trump threaten tariffs if these nations didn’t go along with him? Economically strongarming our allies?
