Having already made considerable concessions, Tehran purged hardliners from its negotiating team as well. Nevertheless, talks reportedly saw no progress. Iranian media says Washington refused to offer any guarantees on sanctions relief benefits.
The JCPOA is on life support now as the U.S. imposed new sanctions on Iran, Robert Malley is warning Tehran is weeks away from having a bomb, Biden is heading to the Middle East to “deepen Israel’s integration in the region” and Tel Aviv’s potential new IDF Chief of Staff wants to murder IRGC leaders with allies “Soleimani style.” Even the EU diplomats who saved talks previously are saying time is running out. Connor also discusses the differing accounts of what occurred in Doha and the bleak future of negotiations.
