Conflicts of Interest: Is the Draft Coming Back?

On COI #455, Kyle Anzalone and Connor Freeman cover the latest on US government surveillance, Russia, China, and Palestine.

Connor breaks down a report from the White House recommending the renewal of a controversial law which enables Washington to spy on foreign nationals and the American people. Connor also talks about a recent op-ed on Military.com arguing in favor of conscription as a solution to the military’s recruitment crisis.

Kyle details Australia’s “firm” demands that the charges against Julian Assange be dropped, as well as how the US is desperately seeking more artillery ammo for Kiev, tensions between Poland and Belarus, and further Ukrainian drone attacks on Moscow.

Connor discusses the latest on the Israel lobby’s reaction to the split between the White House and Tel Aviv over the Judicial overhaul, and the latest Israeli attacks and murders of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank.

  1. Is the draft coming back?
Are politicians gearing up for ’24 and are talking points coming back as well as the almost cookie-cutter stories/questions on blogs and podcasts too?
Term limits and balanced budgets are other “questions” that will arise soon given this is the campaign season.

  2. If it does, there should be no deferments. None. No college deferment. No Mormon mission deferment. If a young man has bone spurs, find him something that does not require marching. Pat Sajak of Wheel of Fortune was in the Army and stationed in Vietnam. His MOS? Disc jockey. I knew a man who worked in accounting/payroll in the Air Force. One of my neighbors, Jewish, has an eye disability (eyes wander all over the place) that kept him out of the service in the U.S. .Israel said they could find something for him.
