Joe Biden: A Ridiculous Man

Here‘s our Vice President, clueless as ever:

““Mubarak has been an ally of ours in a number of things. And he’s been very responsible on, relative to geopolitical interest in the region, the Middle East peace efforts; the actions Egypt has taken relative to normalizing relationship with – with Israel. … I would not refer to him as a dictator.”

Murdering people in the streets, shutting down the internet, rigged elections, jailing  bloggers — oh no, that’s not a dictator.  Biden has alway been a ridiculous man — now he’s a ridiculously immoral man who’s endangering US interests in the region.

By the way: we  don’t see any coverage of Biden’s idiocy on the Huffington Post — or MSNBC, the amen corner of the Obama administration. Aren’t you surprised?

Well said Mr. Raimondo. I might have put it just a snidge differently. You know like, Biden- embarrassing asshat and pseudo-intellectual sinkhole. With shadings of lickspittle and servility for power-point presentation.

  2. You are too kind, Justin. Biden has always been immoral. He's always been a big supporter of an interventionist, militaristic foreign policy.

  3. the actions Egypt has taken relative to normalizing relationship with – [with Israel. …] I would not refer to him as a dictator.

One word explains it all about Israel. The US government is not intersted in democracy or freedom nor it is for the interests of the American people.

  4. Noteworthy here is that Egypt is not so determined to export its gas to Israel because of some profit incentive: ditching highly subsidized local sales for foreign currency market prices. To the contrary, Egypt loses a lot of money on its gas sales to Israel. Initially the 2005 gas treaty between Egypt and Israel required Egypt to supply Israel with 200 million feet of gas daily for the following15 years at a price that “ranges between 70 cents and $1.5 per BTU (British thermal unit),” to be fixed throughout the treaty’s lifetime. So we’re selling this gas at a tiny fraction of its market price, which ranges between $8-$12 per BTU. To be exact, the government refuses to declare its selling prices to date. We know about them from leaked documents and the famous court case that former ambassador Ibrahim Yusri filed to cancel this capitulation treaty, which exposed much of its dirty linen.

  5. What do you mean 'ridiculous' and 'immoral'? Here, he's being smart and quite honest as usual. Apparently Americans love Israel above all else as they've shown consistently for the last 50 years, and Biden is merely pointing out, with a little hedging, that their ally Egypt has been helpful to their beloved ally Israel. How can frankly helping a beloved ally be ridiculous or immoral?

If you make the same bed for 50 years, you get to lie on it a fair bit.
