Zelensky’s wildly irresponsible call for a "preventive nuclear strike against Russia": analysis on Iran’s Press TV

Once again I have the pleasure of recommending to my readership a live interview on Iran’s Press TV earlier today. Once again, I find their news presenter very well briefed on the subject at hand. Once again I find their political positioning remarkably friendly to the Russian side in the conflict with the West over Ukraine.

One might draw conclusions about a shift in Iranian state politics away from "kiss and make up" with the United States and towards alignment with its regional neighbors and with the great powers Russia and China. It is these last two which are raising Iran’s image of stable and constructive contributor to the world order in forums such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Caspian Economic Forum, presently being held in Moscow.

  1. So….by his reasoning…shouldn’t someone nuke America to prevent them from nuking someone?

The Japanese just sat up, and said “WTF did he say?”

  2. I continue to believe that Biden’s capacity to make proper long term judgments is evaporating. I believe he is re-acting the part(s) he played during the cold war, because it’s a script well rehearsed within his memory, and one less likely to lead to the kinds of verbal ejaculations that presage damaging political outcomes.

    1. Except he apparently doesn’t remember the lessons learned during the mid-70s energy crisis, which occurred just after he first joined the Senate. So perhaps his dementia will help him to remember all the lyrics to The Allman Brothers At The Fillmore East, but it won’t give him any strategy for stabilizing the world energy market.

      1. Most versions of dementia — at least prior to entire loss of cognitive function — seem to hit short-term, rather than long-term, memories. So presumably Biden can rock out to that fantastic version of Whipping Post and remember e.g. the oil embargo and gas rationing. But he might be fuzzy on what he had for lunch two hours ago.

        1. Tiiieed to the whippin’ post!
Maybe they just need to pass more doobs around the UN.

  3. Biden and Zelensky are causing a nuclear Armageddon to happen if they happen. Biden and Zelensky are George Warmonger Bush, Tony Blair Witch Project and Ehud Barack Obama on steroids having dementia.
