America begins its 250th year with an ignominious milestone in its worldwide military operations killing innocents in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. That milestone is the world’s first trillion dollar budget supporting America’s murder and mayhem worldwide
The just passed congressional budget bill will decimate the US commons and goose the deficit by trillions to lavish tax cuts on the wealthy. But virtually ignored by the entire Democratic caucus and a smattering of Republican critics railing away in Congress and mainstream media is the $113 billion gifted to the military. This raises the 2026 military budget to $1.0006 trillion.
Why no criticism from Democrats and Republicans? Both parties are bought and paid for by the weapons makers and war promoting think tanks who love the endless profits, power and glory that comes with promoting war as the American Way.
America’s trillion dollar military is currently risking WWIII trying to weaken, isolate Russia in Europe and enable genocide in Gaza. We’re repeatedly bombing pitifully weak, defenseless Somalia in Africa. Hey, what good is a trillion dollar military if you cannot use it?
Not satisfied with murderous operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, our out of control military and war promoters are bragging about being prepared for war with China over Taiwan and Chinese expansionism in their neighborhood 7,000 miles from the US homeland.
There will surely be tremendous fireworks a year from now as America celebrates its sestercentennial. Alas, our trillion dollar military budget will ensure the real fireworks America has become infamous for will destroy life abroad every one of the 365 days preceding our 250th birthday. That is… if we don’t blow up the world before then.
