Woke Bombs Are No Better than MAGA Ones

Posted on

This image stays with me:

The people on the receiving end of American bombs don’t care if those bombs are from a “woke” B-52 or a MAGA one, or whether the crews of those planes are diverse. Is it better to be bombed by female or gay or Black air crews?

The comedian Jimmy Dore did a recent segment on the CIA’s celebration of Gay Pride Month. Am I supposed to trust the CIA when they wrap themselves in a rainbow flag?

Regardless of who’s been president and which party he’s been from, U.S. military spending has continued to soar. And while Joe Biden finally ended the disastrous Afghan War, the military-industrial-congressional complex is profiting wildly from the new Cold War with China and Russia.

Americans should be deeply concerned with the increasing likelihood of nuclear war, together with the government’s great affection for building even more nuclear weapons. Yet we are actively discouraged by our government from thinking about the unthinkable, i.e. genocidal nuclear weapons and war. “Trust the experts” is the implicit message, along with “pay no attention” to the trillions being spent on new nuclear bombers, ICBMs, and submarines. After all, they’re job-creators!

Reelecting Trump or Biden, or electing younger tools like Ron DeSantis or Pete Buttigieg, isn’t going to change America’s imperial, militaristic, and rapacious foreign policy. I’d like to elect a president who prefers not to drop bombs, a leader who knows that bombs remain bombs whether they’re “woke” or “MAGA” or decorated with rainbow or “blue lives matter” flags.

Is that too much to ask?

  1. We were warned.

Too many good people doing nothing good about anything.

    Peace is war now.

    1. Yeah, but you gotta hand it to the propagandists on this one. They spent decades provoking Russia into invading Ukraine, then they get to say, hey, evil Russia invaded poor Ukraine, we have to send them massive amounts of arms & money to help “defend” them. The vast majority of Americans have been totally fooled and brainwashed by this — Russiagate fed by TDS in order to build up hatred of Russia was a good preparation for it — and maybe the majority of other westerners too (how do people in other western countries feel about this?).

    1. The USA doesn’t live up to its ideals. It doesn’t practice what it preaches to the world. The US claims to be “The Leader of the Free World”, it’s the “Misleader of the Free World“.
The US had warmongering POTUS for over 200 years.
I am no fan of Trump but the good things he did in office were his talks with North Korea & Russia started no wars.
Biden wants the war in Ukraine to go on & bleed Russia dry. He doesn’t think the same thing will happen to the US with its “Forever Wars”.
Biden provoked Russia into starting the war in Ukraine, imposed sanctions against Afghanistan is restricting trade with Russia & China, continued sanctions against other nations that were sanctioned before he was in office & won’t restart the Iran Deal. He wants to appease people against his withdrawal from Afghanistan.

      1. This is a recent good read on this topic of War.

June 12, 2023 America’s Perpetual War: Six Questions: Who are the Beneficiaries of American wars?

In other words, the U.S. is a country of perpetual war. War is terribly destructive human activity. Millions of human beings have been sacrificed. Tens of trillions of dollars worth of housing, school, factories, hospitals and other infrastructure facilities have been destroyed in the countries which have been the target of American military attacks.

      2. Watch what politicians do and ignore everything they say. The U.S. was founded by killing the Natives, stealing their land, kidnapping Africans and enslaving them to work the land, and destroying a virtual environmental paradise for money and other selfish unevolved reasons.

I don’t know what “ideals” we’re supposed to get from that, but they’re nothing I’m into.

Have you ever considered the word “freedom”? Freedom to do what exactly? To kill and destroy for one’s own benefit? To make money? People in the Soviet Union had the “freedom” to be entitled to jobs and places to live. Really meaningless word unless you’re talking about enslaved people.

To be clear, I know we’re on the same side on almost all of these issues and this comment is not an attack on you. It’s an attack on the dominant paradigm that you raised.

And BTW, how pathetic is the U.S. politically that we have to raise Trump as an example of doing some good things in foreign affairs (though he did try to start a war by assassinating an Iranian general)?

    3. As much as Carter was better than these a-holes on foreign policy, he did allow Zbigniew Brzezinski to build the religious fanatic movement in Afghanistan, which in turn created just about all of the terrorism since that the U.S. likes to complain about. Carter was before Reagan, so maybe he’s not on this list because it starts in 1980, but since FDR every U.S. president should be on this list (though Kennedy seems to have wanted to reverse course here, which is why he was assassinated).

    4. Not accurate. Trump bombed Syria, continued America’s illegal occupation of that country, acknowledged that we were there for the oil; he assassinated an Iranian general who was on a peace mission; he sought to replace the elected Venezuelan president with an unelected American stooge named Juan Guaido, sent drones flying after President Maduro, stole billions of dollars of Venezuelan funds that were in American banks and confiscated the Venezuelan embassy in Washington, DC, itself an act of war; also, he ramped up hostilities against China, and quite possibly engaged in acts of biowarfare against that country. He was and is not a peace President. The one thing he did not do was provoke a war with Russia over Ukraine; if Mrs. Clinton had won the 2016 election, the current war would doubtless have begun four years earlier.

      1. Guaido was not “unelected.” He was elected to the national legislature, which appointed him “interim president” after it pronounced Maduro’s “presidential election” (held after he imprisoned or disqualified all credible opponents) invalid.

      2. He invaded zero countries, and talked with North Korea. None of the D.C. establishment in the War Party had the guts to do this and communicate as he did. We are free to believe anything. Be blessed!

      3. None of these guys are any good, and that’s the point. There is no point in arguing over who’s worse. The problem is the system that produces these war mongers and puts them in positions of power.

        1. And yet elsewhere, you supporting giving that system power of universal enslavement on the bizarre supposition that doing so would magically create an antiwar movement capable of beating the powerful enslaving warmongers.

          1. You’re mixing apples & oranges and taking my comment on another matter out of context. In the context of this rotten society, yes I support a draft for multiple reasons, the biggest one being that being subject to it or having friends & relatives who are makes people more anti-war and foments rebellion, like during the Vietnam war. But as a radical environmentalist first and foremost, I advocate people eventually (thousands of year from now, because that’s how long it will take) returning to living in much smaller numbers as hunter-gatherers, and focusing on expanding our consciousness instead of unnaturally and very harmfully manipulating the physical/natural world. In that case, there would be no armies because groups of people wouldn’t be large enough to have them. Problem solved!

  2. My freedoms are in jeopardy in Ukraine. If Putin should win thousands of preschoolers will be denied sex change operations.

  3. RFK is the answer. Unfortunately, we’d find out in a hurry who the deep state really fears if someone saying the things RFK has been saying ever gets close to the white house.

    1. Yeah, I can’t imagine they’d let him live if they thought he had too much of a chance of getting elected and he was a threat to end their wars, starting in Ukraine. I believe he also said he wants to close all the U.S. foreign military bases, correct? Maybe he’s tired of living.

Why do people just accept the unelected deep state’s power over us and the rest of the world? Nobody voted for these jerks & creeps, and they should be taking orders from us, not the other way around. Or maybe they shouldn’t exist at all. Same problems with the cops and the military.

  4. Jimmy Dore pointed out that ruling class people like Bill Gates hijacked the term “woke” from the Black community and perverted it, then pushed all this ridiculous crap on everyone. Unfortunately liberals and young people have bought this woke BS, so they don’t pay attention to much more important issues. Peace and the environment are objectively the most important issues, and economic issues, while less important, affect a great number of people in serious ways also. In comparison, whether someone calls another person he, she, or they (to list just one example of this idiocy) is so minor that it’s not even on the radar.
