In a rare successful deal with Iran, the Biden Administration secured the release of five US citizens held in Iranian prisons in exchange for the release of $6 billion in Iranian assets seized by the United States. Predictably, US Republican politicians lost their minds over the deal. Also today: Blinken green-lights Ukrainian missile strikes deep into Russia – what could go wrong?

Republican politicians lost their minds over the deal.
That’s because there is a “D” in office. Iran is as bipartisan as any issue gets. You can’t be rabidly pro-Israel without professing your hate of Iran. So, the democrats lost their minds in private.
Both parties want war when their misleaders are in charge although they may not want war with the exact same people as the other party nor the exact same people as some people in their own party.
I stand by my depiction of the “two” major parties as the Stupid Party, and the Insane Party. Great choices, yes ?

I would rather have Dennis Kucinich for president than the other candidates of either party. Biden wasn’t the best candidate in the 2020 Primary. He won because he was Obama’s VP years before that.
The Republican Candidates want a war with Mexico although some of them would negotiate with Putin and Zelensky to end the Ukraine War.
The Media only focus on who they think are the best candidates and ignore the other candidates so they lose and have the least name recognition.
Biden sat out the 2016 primary.

He was put in position to win the nomination when the drop outs (Warren, et al) threw their delegates to Biden and not Sanders. Nearly all progressives tossed their delegates in the hat of a centrist, who supported invading Iraq, called Social Security and Medicare “sacred cows”, who penned the precursor to the Patriot Act (he bragged about it). Warren has further shown her true war monger colors by totally baking bankrolling the proxy war in Ukraine. Jake, there ain’t no progressives in the Democratic Party……….
Raul Paul is exactly right. How crazy is it that we steal a country’s money through a subservient third country (S Korea), and we’re yelling like some victim. Insanity rules Congress. There are always plenty of hawks regardless which party in power.

Right it isn’t like he sold them missiles or anything
The US has an interest in the USD being a world currency. If we randomly steal other peoples USD too frequently people will lose faith in the dollar.
Countries who utilize USD are subject to sanctions, etc.
We still owe Iran its own money from 1979.
