Over 1,500 Write-In Votes for CEASEFIRE in New Hampshire Primary

UPDATE (1/26, 6:00am EST): Associated Press’s final results omit any mention of the votes for CEASEFIRE in their report.

The New Hampshire Secretary of State has reported that over 1,500 voters wrote in CEASEFIRE in Tuesday’s primary.  A small number of votes have yet to be tabulated.

Reports as of Thursday morning show 1,497 Democrats and 34 Republicans wrote in CEASEFIRE.  These links require MS EXCEL to read.   The links to full county results are available here, also in EXCEL.   These links should have final updated counts within a few days.

Thanks go to the CEASEFIRE Campaign, as well as to the New Hampshire Secretary of State for making the decision to report these counts.

  1. I’ll write CEASEFIRE when the primary comes to Tennessee. I wish the Third Parties would become First Parties and the Democratic and Republican Parties would go the way of the Whig Party.
Trump and Biden should be barred from politics and spend the rest of their lives in jail.

    1. Unfortunately, your write-in vote won’t be counted — if it’s even physically possible to cast it (it may not be if your county uses electronic voting machines). Tennessee only recognizes write-in votes for candidates who have filed paperwork with the state to put themselves forward as write-in candidates.

      1. Somebody get Directory Assistance to locate John Ceasefire in Tennessee and see if he’d mind filling out some documents to get on the slate.

  2. “But what’s CEASEFIRE’s stance on illegal immigrants and federal excise taxes ??”

    1. You think primary votes matter (especially the Democratic primary)? LOL. Whoever the voters actually choose they’ll just override it with superdelegates and advertising dollars.

      1. Oh, very much so.

I think I prefer the Canadian system (it might best be called the Parliamentary system?) where the parties themselves decide on their leader in (equally convoluted) internal meetings and conventions and then present their choice as leader & possible next PM.

At least that way the party hangs THEMSELVES on their own poor, out-of-touch choices instead of pretending it was their voter base’s doing.

This let the Conservative Party of Canada install a couple uncharismatic duds (Andrew Scheer and Erin O’Toole) and (thankfully) guarantee their party had absolutely no appeal outside the CPC’s [old / White / wealthy] voting base.
