Most Americans disapprove of what Israel is doing in Gaza and say it is genocide because it is. Unfortunately, it won’t make Biden see the light, he’ll continue to give Israel the green light to do as it pleases even if he tells them not to do certain things. Trump will do the same thing if he is elected but he won’t tell Israel not to do certain things.
Trump told them to wind things up, that it makes them look bad. I’m not disagreeing with you.
But Trump didn’t say how they should wind it up. He also said, “finish the job”. Sounds like he wants them to hurry up so the public doesn’t turn against them more than they already have. He didn’t seem to really have a problem with what they did, or are doing, since he said he’d had done the same. He sounds only concerned about the optics.
Correct.
Unfortunately, as the prophet Dirty Harry taught us in colorful language, ordinary folk’s opinions aren’t worth much. These democratic excesses are mostly viewed as a temporary problem that’s easily solvable with more

I dunno. I disagree with you. US democracy is based on tricking Americans. If Americans actually oppose something enough, it matters. It’s not majority rules, but the masses do matter somewhat.
