In President Biden’s final speech in Europe – held in Warsaw – not only did he call for “regime change” in Russia but he warned that the war in Ukraine would be “long.” As Glenn Greenwald wrote recently, the Biden Administration seems to be doing everything it can to PROLONG the war. President Biden has attended an emergency NATO meeting in Brussels where the member countries have pledged to get more aggressive toward Russia rather than look for means of de-escalation. More troops, more weapons, more interference. All this for a Non-NATO country.

First it was a US demand that China vote to condemn the Russian invasion of Ukraine, then suspiciously-sourced accusations that China was to provide military equipment to China, to now a sudden new round of sanctions on China. Does Washington really believe China will act as the US proxy in the region? Does Washington want to take on both Russia AND China (and maybe India)? The US attack on Iraq, which happened 19 years ago this past weekend, resulted in a destroyed country and perhaps as many as one million killed directly and indirectly by the invasion. The Trump plan to bring troops home from Europe has undergone a “miraculous” turnaround, with the war in Ukraine being used as an excuse for a massive new influx of US soldiers to Germany and points eastward. Meanwhile, billions more are being spent to send weapons to Ukraine (where they are likely blown up, only to be replaced with more shipments). War is big business for the Beltway. Also today: CIA has been training Ukrainian army for eight years in eastern Ukraine. Training to fight Russians.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) has labeled former US Rep. Tulsi Gabbard a “traitorous liar” over Gabbard’s suggestion that the US should work with Russia toward a ceasefire in Ukraine with a focus on protecting the US Defense Department-funded biolabs scattered around that country. This even though the US Administration itself admitted the labs’ existence and the potential danger posted by them. Apparently speaking the objective truth is “Russian disinformation” to Washington’s pro-war cult.
